Advanced encaustic workshop with guest artist Jeffrey Hirst

Advanced Encaustic Workshop

$350+$25 material fee

March 14-15, 2019 at the Lyon Arts Studio in American Fork, Utah

In this advanced encaustic workshop, each artist will further define their aesthetic voice through the use of encaustic painting. The goal of the class is to help each artist make their best work at this stage of their career. The class will also incorporate skills used to further tap into your intuition. The class will also address technical issues that will help clarify the overall vision of the work. Advanced technical questions pertaining to both painting and sculpture will be addressed such as working on a large painting or how to present a sculptural piece.

Discussions on having your work shown in venues will be covered and what to do to have your work accepted into shows. A PowerPoint presentation will be shown of well-known artists working with encaustic. The workshop will also include two reviews of class work as a sharing/learning time. The class is limited to ten students so each artist will receive plenty of individual consultation.
